Scholarships
Scholarship Applications must be completed with all information by APRIL 27th.
We must also receive from the student’s school guidance office a copy of the student’s GPA and class rank by April 27th. The guidance office may email the information to ecfcwashingtonnc@gmail.com or mail to – PO Box 1174, Washington, NC 27889 – (just make sure we receive it by April 27th)
The ECFC awards scholarships to area seniors each year.
- One scholarship is named in memory for Mr. Earl Mitchell who contributed greatly to the club, community and its purpose.
- Another scholarship is named for Mr. Linley Gibbs, in memory for his work and continued contributions to the club and our community.
- Leland ‘Buddy’ Baker Scholarship in honor of his constant and continued contributions to our area youth. He served as secretary treasurer of the club for many years as well as managing and stocking the concession stand for soccer for many years.
- Patty Peebles Scholarship in honor of Patty’s dedication to the Optimist Club/ECFC of Washington and the youth soccer program. Patty served many years in different administrative positions: President, Secretary – Treasurer and Soccer Commissioner.
Applicants are required to have participated in school sports or in any of the ECFC/Optimist Club sports programs, and they must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher.
If applying for a scholarship please request that your Guidance Counselor send an email to ECFC at ecfcwashingtonnc@gmail.com with your GPA information and class standing.
