Scholarships

Scholarship Applications must be completed by APRIL 24th.

We must also receive from the student’s school guidance office a copy of the student’s GPA and class rank by April 24th.  The guidance office may email the information to ecfcwashingtonnc@gmail.com or mail to – PO Box 1174, Washington, NC  27889 –  (just make sure we receive it by April 24th)

The ECFC awards scholarships to area seniors each year.

  • One scholarship is named in memory for Mr. Earl Mitchell who contributed greatly to the club, community and its purpose.
  • Another scholarship is named for Mr. Linley Gibbs, in memory for his work and continued contributions to the club and our community.
  • Leland ‘Buddy’ Baker Scholarship in honor of his constant and continued contributions to our area youth.  He serves as secretary treasurer of the club now and for many years.
  • Patty Peebles Scholarship in honor of Patty’s dedication to the Optimist Club of Washington and the youth soccer program.

Applicants are required to have participated in school sports (Cheerleading counts as a sport) or in any of the ECFC sports programs, and they must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher.

If applying for a scholarship please request that your Guidance Counselor send an email to ECFC at ecfcwashingtonnc@gmail.com with your GPA information and class standing.  If you would like to mail us a copy of your transcript, please postmark to us by April 30th.  ECFC, PO Box 1174, Washington, NC 27889.

Instructions are included on the application. Applications must be postmarked by the posted due date to be eligible.

Scholarship Applications are open April 1st thru April 24th
